FUTURE PROJECTS

NATIONAL YOUTH ORCHESTRA OF WALES COMMISSION

The National Youth Orchestra of Wales has commissioned a 10 –12 minute work to open the concerts during their 2014 tour. The new work, provisionally titled Twm Sion Catti, will be conducted by Jac van Steen and be partnered with Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique and Don Quixote by Richard Strauss.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be working once more with the NYOW and with Jac van Steen who is a great supporter  of my music. I last worked with them in 1999 when Invisible Cities was commissioned to mark Alun Hoddinott’s seventieth birthday. I was amazed by their enthusiasm, professionalism and sheer musicality.”

Performances of the new work will take place between 21st July and 3rd August 2014.

NEW WIND BAND WORK

Following the success of The Broken Sea, Timothy Reynish has commissioned a new concert opener for symphonic wind ensemble for performance in 2014.
